How long has Media Analysis been around?
While enlightened companies were well aware of the importance of media coverage in terms of its effect on their image before the 1980s, it was not until the advent of cheap computer processing power that Media Analysis became a practical possibility.
Panarc International pioneered Media Analysis, starting development work in the early 1980s and signing its first major contract (with a government) in 1984.
Other Media Analysis companies entered the UK market in the early 1990s. With the arrival of these other companies, it quickly became apparent that there were two related but distinct markets. There were clients who required a comprehensive analysis of the total effect of media coverage on their business. (This was the original purpose of the Panarc International system.) There were other clients (far greater in number and predominantly commercial companies) who wished simply to measure their own effectiveness in communicating to and through the media.
Panarc International can satisfy both needs.
